The Panhellenic Open Source Software Conference FOSSCOMM 2024 was successfully concluded with a record number of participants at the University of Macedonia!

With more than 500 participants attending in person and an additional 250 joining online, FOSSCOMM 2024 recorded the highest attendance in its history. The event served as a milestone for the Open Source Software community in Greece, providing a space for creative discussions, innovation, and collaboration.

The Open Source Software Team of the University of Macedonia warmly thanks everyone who participated on November 9-10 and contributed to organizing a dynamic conference. FOSSCOMM 2024 brought together students, professionals, developers, and Open Source enthusiasts, offering interactive workshops, excellent talks, and unique networking opportunities.

The three distinguished keynote speakers, Diomidis Spinellis (Athens University of Economics and Business), Frank Karlitschek (Nextcloud), and Luis Falcon (GNU Health, GNU Solidario), inspired the audience with their knowledge, experiences, and contributions to the Open Source field. Their talks highlighted the power of collaboration and innovation through freedom in knowledge and tools.

The workshops provided practical skills, while the discussions showcased the trends and potential of Open Source Software in Greece and globally. At the same time, the event served as a catalyst for strengthening the community, bringing together individuals and organizations that share the same vision.

FOSSCOMM 2024 concluded on a positive note, with new collaborations, initiatives, and ideas emerging during the conference. We extend our gratitude to all participants, volunteers, speakers, and sponsors who contributed to the event’s success.
